About Us

House of Hope is registered with the government of Canada and

listed as a registered charity. Our charity number is 86861 2144 RR0001.

All donations are eligible for a receipt for income tax purposes.

We are always looking for unique and creative fundraising ideas

and people who can help us raise awareness of our programs in

the community. Please contact the Director to discuss any

fundraising possibilities. Also, we are often in need of arts and

crafts supplies for our programs and would welcome any donations

of this nature. We currently depend solely on the generous

financial gifts of both individuals and corporate sponsors to

operate our programs, as well as our own fundraising efforts.

We currently do not receive government funding.

Director

House of Hope has appointed Cheryl Ettinger as the

Executive Director, who will oversee all aspects of the

organization and co-ordinate all the programs offered.

Cheryl's education includes a Bachelor of Religious Education

as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Social Development from the

University of Waterloo and has most recently completed a Master's degree in
Counselling. She is continuing her education through the University of Toronto in children's mental health. Cheryl
is a passionate and energetic individual whose life's goal is to assist children in the midst of difficult situations.
She has specialized in working with grieving children over the past 10 years both individually and in a group
setting. Cheryl enjoys being creative and unique in her therapy sessions with children and intentionally strives
to create a fun and caring environment for them to express and explore their feelings. She has spoken at many
conferences at universities, churches and schools and gives seminars on issues relating to children and loss.
